Dear Mother
City (capetown.tv)
Congratulations on the best website in Africa. I have visited several websites over the years, none matches yours in all of Africa. I am proud to inform you that yours ranks among the best of the best. No wonder people love Cape Town so much. They know what to expect . They come to our beautiful city well informed and ready to have fun. I am pleased to let you know that I have been encouraging Americans to visit South Africa since 1990. Particularly Cape Town and Joburg. Those that have been to the Mother City just can't stop talking about your hospitality, the beauty of the city and the food. Keep up the good work. I was wondering though, if you would please advise Joburg to revise their website in order to promote the city and attract tourism. Their website is like a local tabloid. It is designed for a few locals who have access to the internet. Potential visitors complain about too many articles that are aimed at local residents. There are no pictures of the city, no virtual images, no information about hotels, it is too worded and it does not promote the city. Visitors are frustrated by Joburg's website. Would you please advise them to create a city newspaper instead, for local residents and use the website to promote Joburg and attract investment and tourism. They have a great website but it misses the point. It is being misused. I told them already but they need your assistance and advice. Joburg is a local government not a local newspaper. It is the financial capital of Africa. It has the tenth largest stock exchange in the world. It is the capital of the richest province in Africa. It contributes 25% of the country's GNP. It must be promoted well. The internet is the most effective, the least expensive and the largest medium of advertising in the world. Please advise Joburg to take advantage of these facts. Please do it for our country's sake. Joburg is not being promoted well. There are 300 million people online as opposed approximately 3 million Joburg residents, most of whom have no access to the internet. A Joburg municipality newspaper would be cost effective and ideal for what the website is being currently used for. Let us please help our great city. United we stand. May God bless our beloved country. William Ntsoana, USA Feel free to give us your opinion! mail us... |
